 – The Wonder of Learning:  The Hundred Languages of Children

The Wonder of Learning is an international exhibit that has traveled to thirty-one countries, including forty cities in the United States and has been seen by hundreds of thousands of visitors since 1981.    

The multimedia, 7,000 square foot exhibit is divided into stations and visitors can go at their own pace and start at any section.   Each section is composed of a variety of media, and may include three-dimensional objects, videos, booklets, audio-recordings and children’s work. The Pittsburgh exhibit also includes the world premiere of a new video.

The exhibit is Free and Open to the public thru November 15 and is bringing visitors from the tri-state area and beyond.

– Collaborated with Chief Information Officer supporting United Way’s work in the community.  United Way of Allegheny County is one of the top 10 United Way organizations, raising more than $32 Million in 2011

– Public Relations – developed stories about staff, funding, programs and initiatives to promote and support the organization. More than 120 stories published/aired as a result.

– Communications – informed stakeholders of the impact in the community.  Included outreach to 60,000 donors, 750 companies, partner non-profit agencies, media and key influencers. Email campaigns resulted in 27% average open rate and more than $11,000 raised (non “ask” messages).

– Marketing – built on existing brand recognition and produced creative materials working with consultants and agencies.

– Created web site content and facilitated new web site development with internal team and with external consultants.  New web site launched March 28, 2013.

– Managed social media via @UnitedWayPgh and Facebook page. Over 6 month campaign increased “Likes” by 63% and Followers by 72% after zero new followers between Jan 2012 and Aug 2012.

– Produced video projects for internal and external distribution; negotiating budget, managing crew and performing as on-site producer and host. Promoting United Way Films to more than 2,600 views in 5 months.

Reported to the Vice President of Government Affairs, supporting Comcast’s community investment initiatives with employees, customers, elected officials and the community.

Supported 650 communities in 30 counties in PA, OH, WV and MD. The Region included 800,000 customers.

Managed $23 million in cash and in-kind investment in the Three Rivers Region.

Comcast Cares Day – Project Manager of the corporate, annual day of volunteering. From 200-5-2011 more than 40 projects, 2,500 volunteers and $74,000 in Foundation grants. Project partner/site selection, employee volunteer recruitment, coordinated work to be completed on-site, public relations, government involvement/recognition and follow up Foundation grants.

Comcast Foundation – Program Officer facilitated grant applications for focus areas of Literacy, Youth Leadership/Development and Volunteerism awarded more than $100,000 annually.

Comcast Newsmakers – Executive Producer managed budget, talent, staff and schedule for two studios (Wheeling, WV; Pittsburgh, PA) taped 25+ interviews each month with elected officials and non-profit organizations.
